The Aluminium Hot Log Shear is an automated system that enables hot aluminium logs to be cut precisely and safely to the lengths required by the extrusion press at the outlet of the billet heating furnace. Cutting full length billets to the required length after they have been heated optimises material usage, reduces scrap rates and increases production efficiency.

Thanks to the PLC controlled automation system, the cutting process operates in full synchronisation with the billet heating furnace and the extrusion press. High cutting precision, fast cycle times and reliable operational performance support production continuity whilst minimising operator intervention.

Hot Shear systems, first developed in Turkey by Acar Teknolojik Sistemler in 2006, are designed either as stand alone units or integrated with billet heating furnaces, offering solutions that provide aluminium extrusion plants with high efficiency and low operating costs.
