Hardening and Carburizing Furnaces
Hardening and carburizing furnaces are fully automatic, turnkey heat treatment facilities designed to impart the desired mechanical properties to steel components. They consist of an automatic loading system, a hardening furnace, a quenching tank, and a tempering furnace. These furnaces, which are heated by electricity or natural gas, offer a very high degree of temperature uniformity.
The hardening process enables steel components to achieve high strength and toughness through hardening, quenching, and tempering; while the carburizing process increases the component’s surface hardness and wear resistance through carbon diffusion, ensuring that the core structure remains tough.
These processes are widely used in applications requiring high strength, long service life, and reliable performance, such as the automotive, defense, machinery manufacturing, gear production, and heavy industries.
The Heat Treatment and Carburizing Facilities, custom-designed by Acar Teknolojik Sistemler for each project, include a hardening furnace with an operating temperature of approximately 900 °C, a carburizing unit for the case hardening process, a quenching bath, a washing unit, a tempering furnace capable of operating up to 700 °C, automatic loading systems, and a PLC-based automation infrastructure.
Thanks to the fully automatic control system, temperature, atmosphere, duration, and process parameters are precisely controlled. This ensures consistent heat treatment quality, high process reliability, energy efficiency, and repeatable production performance in every production cycle.
